Hallo everyone,
One of our customers think about migrate from WS A7.3. on AS400/DB2 to OW B7.3. on SUN/ORACLE. Has anybody tried to solve this problem? Does anybody know the steps to do it and what problems can appear?
Any ideas are welcome……….

Thank you for your help and interest.

Martin.

On a platform migration such as you propose, you will lean heavily on R98403.

The way I would suggest is to install OneWorld on the AS/400 as if you were doing coexistence. You should aim the Central Objects, Versions, Object Librarian, System, Data Dictionary, and other OneWorld only tables to the Oracle system, but aim Business Data, Control Tables, and AS/400 Common to the AS/400. After initial installation, make sure you perform the other procedures in the manual for moving A/R and HR/Payroll (if you are using these modules) to OneWorld.

Then create data sources to look at the appropriate Oracle databases, and run R98403 to create the tables and copy the data over from the AS/400 to Oracle. This way, you create the new files in a way that OneWorld will not object to.

Then make sure your environment's OCM is set to look at only the Oracle data sources for everything.
