Standard Font missing from RDA

[cool] Hi all,

I got this strange thing happening in my PC. When I go in to Report Design and change font of a section or field, I could not find the default font which is Arial. I've checked the system/resource/font folder and it seem to be complete with all the fonts include Arial. Really puzzle me.
Even my Windows 2000 Pro got this font in its directory.

Anywhere else I can check the problem ?

Yeah, I've seenm this. Rather than go through any hassle, I just type "Arial" in the box and click OK and RDA takes it. But it has to be the only operation you do - ie, change to bold, then 10 pt, click ok. go back in, type arial and click ok.

We had the same problem. If you check the list you will find it.
Somehow we tried lot of different things and finally
(1) We uninstalled all the windows default fonts (ALL the fonts) and
(2) Downloaded new fonts from Microsoft site.
(2) Reinstall all the new fonts and Guess what ??? It worked...

1) perhaps i have the same problem because i have installing an arabic demo version and when execute an arabic ube(to PDF format) with an arabic font (eg: traditional arabic) an error message indicate that this font is not found in the dictionnary !!!!!!!!
but when i submitt the same ube to CSV format it's fine
2) how i can install the new fonts from microsoft site
can you help me to resolve this problem

Here is a good explanation on how fonts work for RDA. Hope it helps.
Also I wanted to know if you deleted first the adobefnt.lst or you just
replaced it for the new one.

The fonts used by RDA are indeed from the WINNT/Fonts directory.

The fonts used by UBE are in the Resource directory on servers (NT, 2000,
UNIX, AS/400). On a Fat Client (NT/2000), UBE should look in both places.
