Hello List,

Does anyone know about the prices unit decimal conversion?
We used to run the P40CVT programme, in World Software, but we can not find
the similar programm in OneWorld.

Thanks in advance

From the appendix of my book on Advanced Pricing:

Changing the Number of Decimals on Unit Price Fields

You probably are aware that the software comes delivered with 4 decimals on
all unit price fields. Some clients need to change the number of decimals
to 6 or even 7 to accommodate high volume/low unit price industries such as
Refined Fuels, Chemicals, and Grain.

JDE has a process in the software designed to help you change the number of
decimals.

The major difference between World and OneWorld is that only World has a
conversion routine to go into all the Master files and History files and
convert the data. OneWorld does not have this, which means you really need
to decide how many decimals you need before a lot of data is keyed into the
system.

The process is essentially the same as the process for changing decimals on
all quantity fields.

The list of fields to be converted includes all unit cost fields as well:

Here are the steps to follow in converting the data items to a different
number of decimals.

1. Setup a data item category in the Data Dictionary called UNTAMT which
will

2. Assign all the above data items to a user defined category code table,
say 40/D6.

3. Run the Data Item Category Update – in the processing options identify
the UDC which holds the data items, and the Data Item Category, UNTAMT.

4. In World only, run the Data Item Conversion, program P40CVT.

For more documentation on OneWorld see the System Administration Manual,
Data Dictionary Administration, Updating Display Decimals section. This
documentation explains how to convert Quantity Decimals. The same steps
apply to Unit Price/Cost Decimals.

Make sure you do a full backup before doing any of these steps. Neither JDE
nor Klee Associates, Inc., can guarantee the above list of fields is 100%
complete or that the process will work flawlessly. Do this in a Test
environment, and test thoroughly before doing it in Production.
