Faxing from OneWorld

JDE List,

Does anyone do faxing from within OneWorld? How do you do it (don't need
specifics, just looking for general info)? Do you do it via e-mail
messaging?

Hey James

Sort of fax from OneWorld is the best I can do for you.

We do fax purchase orders out but we have a third party tool in their to accomplish this. The company is called BottomLine Technologies (formerly I-Point). I believe that FormScape is part of their solution but don't know any specifics.

Anyway OneWorld sends a PDF through to the server on which the software is loaded and then all formatting is done there. The software appies conditional logic. So that if the PDF has a fax number on it then it tries to fax it.

The same solution handles e-mails, faxing and good old fashioned printing as well. Works well.

Serveral Ways to Do.. Depends upon Budget, Price and performace required

(1) Inexpensive Solution is to have FAX printer install and setup on machine running UBE as well as in OW. Fax Printer comes free of charge with Windows 2000, Windows XP.. ThanX to Microsoft ;-)
Print PDF on this FAX printer which will help sending FAX.

(2) Best solution Formscape

(3) One can also write business function to do that using Mircosoft API.

(4) Email to FAX server

(5) OSA Report Interface - More tought but better control.
