Override objects from PY to DV

Hi List,

I'd like to know if anyone out there has ever overriden objects from one environment to another? Specificaly, onto development environment? If you have, why did you do it?

Thanks in advanced,

Jorge,

I over wrote Development & CRP before with Production. The reason being is
that I had so many ESU's that were garbage in DEV in addition to junk
created by numerous developers it was easier to just pick up PROD drop it on
DEV instead of removing a large number ESU's and deleting a large number of
objects. I usually do this sometime after a go-live when we're sure that
everything is working in Production. Generally around the same time we have
no idea what's working or not working in DEV.

Of course you need to make sure that anything in DEV is first copied to PROD
& CRP.

Do you mean transferring objects from one environment to another?
I've used R98403. There is a document on the K.G. to do this. Search =
for
R98403 on the K.G.

Hi Jorge,
Could you be more specific?
What do you mean by overriding an object?
One may (and I did) override a Data Source before using an Application Interconnect.
When running a UBE, one may override the Default (whichever that is) environment/Data Source, say PY and enforce usage of DV (Business Data).
UBE (template) Layout, ER, ... they may be overriden at Design Version level.
What is precisely that you want to do/know?
Warm regards,

I'd like to know if anybody has moved the objects in one environment (let's say PY) and copied it onto the Development environment?

In other words, the specs of all applications, UBEs, NERs, etc., in one environment replacing the same applications, UBEs, NERs specs in the development environment? And most important, why?

Jorge
