Deleting User Profiles on Xe

Hi list

Does anyone know whether you can delete a user profile from Xe?

We only have a 60 user license. If a user leaves the company can you
delete their profile
without damaging the data that was entered under their profile?

Louise,

Once data is entered by the user, it is no longer
contolled by that user. Anyone with access to JDE and
the associated file can access that record.

Also in relation to licenses, these are typically
concurrent sign-ons accessing the database. You can
have as many user profiles as you want. I know of
companies that have 200+ potential users with profiles
and only a 50 user license.

The number of licenses used is based on the number of workstations that OneWorld is installed on not user profiles. Run P98538 and you'll see what I mean. If a workstation is taken out of service make sure that you un-install OneWorld to get the license back.

Louise,

Check out documents OTI-99-0065 and OTI-01-0027 on the knowledge Garden. They should provide you with the information you need.

As others mentioned, your interest will be in workstation licenses and not user profiles.
