OracleServerHandleReuse=0

Setting OracleServerHandleReuse=0 has been suggested several times in this forum to alleviate deadlocks.

Is there a downside to setting this flag?

For instance, has anyone noticed a decline in performance or other errors that pop up after applying it?

Thanks a bunch.

Dave.

Dave,

no new problems noted since we implemented (a couple months ago). No noticable performance increase/decrease, hard to tell if decrease in other problems - user's don't tell us when things are working well - just when things aren't working well ;)

Thanks Larry.

Did you happen to find the telltale "invalid cursor" error in the user's jde.log or just see the locks?

Do you remember if the locks increased with some system change? We saw a significant increase when SP17.1 was applied. Probably a coincidence.

Thanks again.

Dave.

David

We have had this parameter set for about 3 months now. We do not see any
degradation in performance and it has solved some major data integrity
issues for us in the area of purchase order receipting, inventory transfers
and adjustments where we were experiencing caching issues. Go for it!
