Garbage in the Debug File

When running R0006P on an AS400 system, the JDEDEBUG.LOG file contains a number of entries such as:

--UBE--[4]-- --ER: Line(-2147483648): <Processing HIDE/SHOW OBJECT> çÑÀÁ€|Â|ÁÄȈêÀÀÊÁËË€+Í_ÂÁÊŒ€‰

If have seen this kind of stuff in the past, and don't think its a problem, but does anyone have a definitive answer of why the garbage appears? I assume it is a character representation of a binary image.

I just had a chat with a developer, who has also seen it many times before, and thinks it is a problem with the debug tool itself.

Any more thoughts?
