I just received an e-mail from JDE that they have discovered a problem with ESU # JD13750, which affects certain OneWorld XE customers -- something to do with Table Conversions not working.

The replacement ESU will be available by searching for SAR number 5848975 sometime around March 15 (eek, the Ides of March!).

Just thought I'd pass this on.

I have already applied the planner ESU. So what should I do ? But I backed up planner folder before applying this ESU.

Thank you so much for your message about the Planner ESU. I thought I had
gone crazy when my table conversion, which I was in the process of
developing, suddenly quit working. I have a call into JDE about the
problem; it will be most interesting to see if they concur with these
findings. Thanks so much! I think you've possibly saved my sanity (for the
moment).

Typical. I was preparing for SP18.1 this weekend, and this ESU was the planner ESU I downloaded on Friday at ~3pm EST. Looks like they recalled it just about the time I downloaded it. Didn't put in my correct email address - so had major hassles with installing the ESU.

I am so glad this board exists - its the first place I looked to discover where the issue lay - had to back out the ESU at 4am this morning !!!!

So heres a warning, people - make sure you put your email address into that little download box, unlike me !!!

What was interesting, was that the ESU replaced 4 .dll's in the PLANNER\Bin32 directory without backing them up - whats the point in that !!!!

I had to restore them from Dev. I hope they get this ESU fixed. I'm amazed that their QA doesn't include actually TESTING the install....

btw - the issue was that the Table Conversion didn't correctly complete - and the spec merge gives a nasty Business Function error.

Hey Don,

lets talk about the whole story. You will have issues by applying this ESU when you do an upgrade. Last week I did a fresh install and all things were fine. I applied it before I did a language install and I have had no issues.

Take care

Bernd (a.k.a. Freddie),

I received a call back from JDE late Friday, and am just now checking the JDEList again -- sorry for the delay. Yes, you are correct that this bad planner ESU should only affect you if you are doing table conversions as part of an upgrade, according to the person I spoke with at JDE on Friday. So in the future, before doing any upgrade, the JDE consultant recommended downloading the latest planner ESU first, and then proceeding with the upgrade. I only hope that at that time the then-current planner ESU will be of much higher quality.

My apologies if I alarmed anyone prematurely, but thought this was important enough to get the word out soon.

As for us, we have left JD13750 in place for now, and our SP18.1 installation went fairly well. We're building a full package today and will be continuing our testing of the new SP.

I am sick and tired of this. This has been a problem since the very first planner ESU (3579610). JDE things its perfectly acceptable to perform brain surgery with a rusty, crank drill. Who is this person that does the planner esu QA? He/she should be sacked right out.
