Problem: Package Build hangs and it never ends even the object is only =
one or many. I left it overnight and unfortunately no success.

What could be wrong? Please help.

Alfred

Alfred,

you are building an update package, right? Look at your build logs: does
it hang when it updates the parent package´s spec files?
If so, your parent package´s spec files are corrupted.
You can try to recover them
from the backup directory,
or a backup tape,
or from the spec.CAB,
or even from a workstation,
or ...
Or you can rebuild the parent package.

Have per chance check any of your logs, i.e. jde.log, realizing of course it
may not say much. The other issue is if your shut down for backup, this
might cause a problem. Also have you, in the past, built packages; if not
you may endemic problem due to the service pack thay you are on. You may
want to check and see if there any one-offs if the later is the case.
thanks

I had this issue once.

The problem was with the antivirus software, because this software need to much RAM memory, try to disconnect the antivirus before generate the package.

Hi, Gerd.

I'm building an Update Package. I checked the BuildError and it looks like
it stops when it reach the "Build 'object' types from definition" and it
NEVER come to a point that it end with "Successful Build....."

What should I do next? What do you mean by Rebuild the Parent Package?

Regards,

Alfred
