Would we be breaking \"the law\"

JDE List,

Would we be breaking some kind of "law" or "code of ethics" if we were to
post a demo jr. SPC Code (refreshed regularly) on the jdelist.com website
for users without the ability to download from the KG?

Inquiring minds need to know?

Thanks,
James

P.S. What is to keep me from sending it to anyone that requests it?

RE: Would we be breaking \"the law\"

It would not work because the code (serial number) is different every
time it is activated. Hence, the activation code would only work for
that one time only.
The ethics and laws pertaining to posting the codes is a different
subject entirely...

Re: Would we be breaking \"the law\"

Even if you posted your authorization code on the net, it would not work for any other copy of the software. The way I remember it working was you log into demo jr and get a message your software is about to expire. You call JD Edwards and give them the expiration code displayed in your login window and they give you a code to reset your software. Now, if you do not use the code they give you right away and restart JDE Demo Jr, your authorization code will no longer work and you'll have to call JDE back up to get a new one. The wonders of algorhythms.

At least that's the way I remember it working back when I was with a business partner. Has it changed?

Re: Would we be breaking \"the law\"

James,

In addition to the other posts:

Even if I think that it's impossible to have a universal SPC code that work on every machine, I want to add that if anything you do is against JDEdwards law then it's against JDEList law also. the reason is simple : JDEList is worldwide and if something on the list break any law somewhere, then it should not be publish on a public forum like JDEList.
