XU3-specmerge time

Hi List.

From you vast experience....How long does the specmerge for XE Update 3 take?

If the backups crash the job. Can I restart it without re-loading backups.

Patty, I just went though this same process in XE. JDE support is now recommending that you do NOT use the backup option for Updates or large ESUs. Both JDE and List members recommended to me that I backup my data on tape and then uncheck the backup option on the workbench.
Once I did that I was able to run the update with no problem.

The entire precess took about 6 hours per environment in my case.

You can resubmit without the backup or if you really want it you you can try it again with the backup. I got the backup to work once but it took 6+ hours just for that.
