Missing Help file E98.HLP during Update 3 / Not Licensed to Run Application

I am having a problem with Update 3 (I know, big suprise).
I have applied Update 3 successfully to DV7333. When I ran it against PY7333 I get a far as Package Workbench (in attended mode). When I select configure from the form exit I get a message at the bottom of the screen that flashes:

Copying Package information for XU3

Then the same line says:

Errors Occurred

When I right click the message and select Contents I see this pop up error message:

Cannot find the help file d:\JDEdwardsOneWorld\B7333\Helps\E98.HLP. Please contact your system administrator.

I looked in this directory and there is no file by that name.

The Process will not continue from this point.

Has anyone had a similar issue or have any idea how to solve this?

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE !!

OK Part 2 to my continuing saga.

When I cancelled the package workbench it took me back to the Software Environment Selection Screen with the Error: Not Licensed to Run Application.

I have applied JD12367 to all environments and I am logged on as JDE.

The end of my JDE.log looks like this:

2024/2084 Wed Feb 27 16:30:55 2002 JDBODBC.C2032
ODB0000183 - SQLExecute failed

2024/2084 Wed Feb 27 16:30:55 2002 JDBODBC.C2032
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Not a valid bookmark. - SQLSTATE: S1000

2024/2084 Wed Feb 27 16:30:55 2002 jdb_drvm.c917
JDB9900401 - Failed to execute db request

2024/2084 Wed Feb 27 16:30:55 2002 jdb_ctl.c4691
JDB4300001 - Failed to validate User handle

I am assuming that the failure to Validate User Handle is the real problem and the missing help file was only going to tell me this.

So far JDE has been no help.

Thanks

Re: Missing Help file E98.HLP during Update 3 install

What's in the jde.log?

Package workbench is the last step in the asu install, so you could finish
it off from Installation Workbench. If it still fails with the same error,
just set the package workbench status to 60. The XU3 package isn't going to
be used anyway.

Re: Missing Help file E98.HLP during Update 3 install

Hi Richmanning,

Remember, if you use the installation workbench to complete the process, you will not update the ESU and Object table (F967611 table, I think) which is updated only when the R98701 is ran which is after the package workbench. That is the table that is used to know if a SAR has been already applied and not reapplied when an ESU with a different number is applied.

You can try rerunning the installation workbench for XU3 and everything should be set to a status of 70 (duplicate entry) and go to the end.

FYI,
I have fixed the error that was occurring when trying to apply Update3.
The problem was that we had several bad records if the F9631 in JDEPLAN. This is the Software Package Detail file, it lists all the objects in a package. I am unsure how this file was corrupted but once the file was clean the update ran fine.
The Error I had of 'Not Licensed to Run Application' is default message in places according to JDE. Therefore it was really no help in locating the problem.
