Citrix

Hello all, we are "kind of" new to this and have just finished searching the forum for answers but were unable to find them.

1) While in a "thin client" session, we open several OneWorld programs from various menu's. For some reason we are not able to see all the menu options we have opened on our thin client task bar. The only way we can see them is if we minimize everything, then they show up down below. Dragging the scroll bar (on the right of the screen) to the bottom does not do us any good.

PLEASE TELL ME, HOW DO I GET THE MENU ITEMS TO APPEAR ON THE TASK BAR?

2) Is there a way to close (kill) Oneworld on a thin client when the users exits a Citrix session without properly exiting OneWorld? Currently OneWorld will "show up" again without requiring a "sign on" when they restart Citrix.

Would appreciate it if you could point us in the right direction.

Thank-You.

Clients are W2000, SP2, Terminal Server is W2000, SP 2, Citrix is 1.8

This sounds like you're trying to publish the Windows Desktop as a published application - am I right ?

Most customers will publish the OneWorld application as a published app instead - or just create a Full Screen session. It would be confusing to users to try and publish explorer.exe as a seamless application.

Your second issue sounds like you are reconnecting to the disconnected session - which is a functionality of citrix.

I personally like the idea of reconnecting to a "permanent" session - but understand that it can cause problems. Therefore, to get rid of this, I recommend that you change your ICA connection properties to log-out all disconnected sessions immediately.

Hope that helps

hi,

If you're using thin clients like Wyse and you're using JDE as a published application, you can't see the minimized windows on the task bar.
That's normal as far as Wyse don't run ICA client in a Windows standard desktop and the taskbar is a functionnality of the Win desktop.
So, no other way that minimizing all windows or using ALT-TAB to switch from one task to another one.
Or maybe try to Publish the Windows desktop instead of OW

Hope it helps
