Visual ER Compare

hi List!

Our Tools people have some problem with Visual ER Compare.

When they copy changes back into the application with it and save it then later when they check it again they find that the changes have been added to some other section.

Lets say there are 4 sections and when they are in section 2 under post button clicked they find a change and then copy it to the newer application then after saving it and chacking it later on they find it back in section 1 under post button clicked.

Does/did anyone else have the same problems?

Hi Richard,

It isn't clear that does it happen in an UBE or in an APPL?
You mentioned "sections" and "post button clicked" too.

I am sorry to says, I had same problems with an UBE.
Please, check the following thread:

Subject: Re-applying custom mods after UPDATE2/ESUs on UBE

where I have already reported it on the Forum. I also reported this issue to the JDE Response Line too. They assigned an SAR number to it:

SAR# 5737108 "Visual ER Compare Sar Error"

Unfortunately the status of this SAR is "Returned-Redesign not Planned".

You can turn on to display the object IDs in Visual ER compare. I had detected that VERC confuses this IDs in some cases.

Richard,

We did experience some additional problems with Visual ER Compare and
moving specs. In our instance, the code was moved into the correct
section, but all parameters for Business and System functions, as well as
table I/O were jumbled. Made for some hairy debugging.......

We were on SP15.1 at the time. We are moving to SP17.1 now. Hope it gets
better!

This is what I got as reply:

"Dear Mr Stam,

The most promising SAR that I have found (5424793) is fixed in Service Pack 18."

Great.... so we've got to go back to multifoundation and test everything afterwards. Don;t think my test users like that as the are now going to 5 ESU's we had to take for other problems.

Oh well.... anyone out there that installed SP18 already?
