Missing Text

Can someone explain how to get the text to our tables? For instance, if our
developers wish to run AS400 query over some of the XE files, there is no
text showing up for the fields. Is there something we need to run to get
this text to appear?

Which text are you referring to? Most likely what needs to happen is that in the As/400 query, the UDC table (F0005) needs to be joined to the other files you are querying. The OneWorld files contain the codes, the UDC tables contain the text to explain the codes.

I am running a query on F03B40 and F0101 to get deductions by customer. How
does the F0005 join these files to give me text on the select and sequence
fields screen? That is the text that I am looking for.

Re: RE: Missing Text

Ok, the F0005 will not help you with that kind of text. You are looking for column headings. In AS/400 query, there is a place where you can override the text, called 'Report Column Formatting'. The person creating the query will need to manually update the column headings. JDE's OneWorld report writer is like query with a JDE interface. If your query makers do not want to fill in the text, use the report writer. If you are Co-existent, try using WorldWriter instead of Query. It's the same tool with a JDE interface that does things like filling in column headings from the data dictionary.
