Hi List

Has anyone applied Planner ESU JD13750. I am trying to figure out whether I should apply the ESU JD13750 or JD12860. Any recommendations ? Also This is the first time I am appling the Planner ESU. My understanding is
1. Backup the Planner directory on Deployment server
2. Apply the ESU as normal to each environment.
3. No Package Build ??
Please verify and any suggestions are Welcome.

Thanks

Since the planner JD12860 has been superceeded by JD13750, I would apply JD13750 because you can no longer dounload the previous one.

Not yet, but one wonders as to how the special instructions have suddenly
disappeared from the previous P ESU

Applied it two days ago. In the menu merge program, R989751B, I got a
message saying empty F9752. There were no special instructions with
this ESU but the prior one there were which I followed so not sure what
the message is for. Everything else ran ok.

Has anybody applied ESU JD13750.

I am going to be applying it next week...my JDE Engagement Manager told me that since it's a planner ESU you should try to stay current on those.

If you are already on JD12860 then it is basically your call.

The special istructions for the ESU is in the folder once you explode the .EXE I found this out yesterday.

Just explode the file on any PC and hit cancel on the setup screen then look into the folder there you'll find the instructions for the various platforms.

I know this was stupid of them to not inform people that that's where it was.

We're in the middle of applying JD13750. Still get the F9752 error - what are you supposed to do about it?

hi,

I think we've had this trouble
In fact it seems the tables in jdeb7.mdb arent updated with the records contained in your esu .mdb file..maybe an MS Access problem?
If i do well remember the files are:
Control Tables - F960004, F960005, F9746, F9751, F9752
F9753, F9754
System - F9691100, F9691400, F9691410, F9691420,
F9691430, F9691500, F9691510
Central Objects - F960961, F9698710, F9698712
Data Dictionary - F9755, F9757, F9759, F9760

We did copy/paste from the esu .mdb file and it worked...
But for us the problem is not solved, we're afraid it will happen again....(ocm mappings for these files seem correct)
Hope it will help

Hi,

I have just installed the JD13750, I have had problems because the reports R98700 and R98701, I thought it was succesfully, but some objects didn't merge, the report said "Merge Not Necessary" check this it's very important!!, in this case you have to change the status for all the objects from 0 to 1 (Merge).
After that the ESU was fine.
Kind Regards.

JD13750 went in fine once we stopped using remote access and actually did it on the console. No problems so far....!

NOTE: Remote Access software we were using was VNC

Hi
So should I change the status code before applying the Planner code ( If yes then how to do it ?) or just follow the special instructions and then apply the Planner ESU.

thanks

On that note of the new planner esu, it appears to have broken some
business functions. After the ESU was applied to our development
pathcode, I now receive these compiler errors for the cinstsall.dll:

sCINSTAL.lib(B96705.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_IB9800400_GetDataSourceFromOCM@24 sCINSTAL.lib(B9800406.obj) : error
LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _IB9800400_GetDataSourceFromOCM@24
sCINSTAL.lib(B9800402.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_IB9800400_GetDataSourceFromOCM@24 sCINSTAL.lib(B96705.obj) : error
LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _IB9800400_CreateTables@24
sCINSTAL.lib(B9800406.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_IB9800400_CreateTables@24 sCINSTAL.lib(B9654A.obj) : error LNK2001:
unresolved external symbol _IB9800400_CreateTables@24

The only thing that has been installed into dev was the planner esu, and
it did include those business functions in it. The problem is which
functions those are. The package built, but it was all messed up since
it could not locate all tables that it needed since those functions did
not build properly.
I have installed the previous planner esu without any issues, and I did
perform the required special instructions prior to installing this esu.
I checked the merge report, and it appears as if everything did merge
properly..
I have a call open with the JDE response line and am doing the waiting
game...
Has anyone else experienced this with this esu?

Regards,
John

Hi MCB,

Just rerun the ESU Installation by selecting the ESU and clicking next. It will bring you back to the Spec Merge and rerun the Spec Merge. I had this happen if there was a memory Violation in the spec Merge or if I clicked on the X on the right corner instead of Finished.

Had this very error with the previous planner esu. Found a working copy of
the corresponding .obj .h and .c source files in another pathcode which
seemed to fix the problem.

Issue :
> By applying a ESU, the OW do not merge some objects and flag them,
> in the
> "Object Install Flag" field for
> the R96701 (Software Update History Report), with a "0" (Merge not
> Necessary).
> Generally this happens when the system detects that those objects were

> Workaround :
> To make the system merge these objects you have to do the following:

> - Go to Software Update Application (GH9612) and select Electronic
> SoftwareUpdates (P96470 ZJDE0001);
> - Select the ESU which has this issue and click Next;

John :

Have you tried to check out, build and check back in these BSFN?
Sometimes, it works!

Are you really building a package to apply the planner ESU? My understanding is that altho' the PLANNER ESU defines packages, there is no requirement for them to be built at any stage or deployed

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but could your problems be because you are building the planner packages?
