RDA

A client just installed XE base, they ask me to verify that the install went
without fail. Going through my checklist I noticed that there is a memory
violation error ( a windows based error) when one tries to enter the RDA
tool to view sections and or ER. It happens on every client install. JD
Edwards said that this is a SP issue and advised to install SP18; this would
take care of the problem. We installed the SP18 successfully and the
problem was not resolved. I have installed XP at a number of client sites
and have not seen this issue before; can anyone help with this issue?!
Thanks

Scott :

Have you installed any Xe Updates?
Have you built and installed a full client package after installing
SP 18?

Scott,

are you only using RDA to open/inspect merged objects/UBEs?

If so then the culprit is likely the Spec merge process from the upgrade. See what happens when an object that was not customized/merged is opened/inspected.

Check if the report templates table is populated (cant remember the
table name, you should see it as the last select in the debug file). If
it isn't copy over from planner.

I will look at that, by the way, the file for the dstmpl.ddb or the F98743,
this is located in the Central Objects library or folder. thanks Kieran

Scott,
I believe it was the Report Director Templates table F94100
being empty caused the memory violation in rda.
Kieran

If you go by your description, "Report Director Templates", the file name is
F91400 not F94100, this great stuff I will check thanks your advice. Scott
