Hi All,
my client wants to change the Direct Ship Orders program (P4243) so
that it includes Inventory Commitment & Advanced pricing. I know that the
Inventory side is somewhat against the principles of this program but they
want to be able to place mixed Order lines against Local Stock and the
remote warehouses.
This would involve putting Inventory Commitment Preferences in the proigram
to pick up that this item is normally souced from the local warehouse. The
Inventory check would then be made and if the item was available would be
committed. If there ws no stock they would change the Line Type and and
Branch plant so that the line would become a direct ship line. Any Line
type S would have the PO Line Closed immediately to avoid beoing picked up
by Print PO with EDI P43500.
Without this mod they would have to make inventory checks in the P4211 and
then jump to P4243 for any lines not available on local stock.
JDE has a SAR for this that is closed. They say that whilst some people
have requested this there have not been enough of them to warrant the work.
The questions are these,
Anyone done this before & if so, do you have the source, specs etc. ?
Is there anything else to consider ?
Is there a better way ?
