Chuck, thank you for your suggestions. I was not aware of the omit object
parameter on the savlib. This could be very useful. We currently use a 3590
tape system but the main problem is limited dasd on our dev AS/400, causing us
to find a better solution than just copying all of production to sandbox. By
doing a selective copy on our production environment, I will be able to cut
down on the size of the sandbox / crp environments. This may be the solution.
I was also not aware of the ACCPTHSIZ parameter, so will need to do some
research on this item.

I sent this response back to the JDE list group, then thought I would
contact you individually.
What kind of tape hardware do you use? Do you have capacity issues with
disk space, and
any specific application that really chews up disk? We had to invest in a
3590E11 tape, with a tape library feature.
Also, I have just had to change some of my files to use a special parameter
that IBM allows (primarily on the lfs). The parameter is
ACCPTHSIZ(*MAX1TB). I was having some serious file contention on the
biggest files, that was causing not only long response time, but even to the
point of appearing to have users locked up solid on the system. I had to do
this to F0311 and its logicals, and to F4111 and its logicals. My F0911
will be done next. If you are not a techie, then I apologize ahead of time,
this may not make sense. But I wondered (since you have a large F0911 file)
if your company or you have had to do this type of change too.
