call an external (local) programm from html interface erp8.12/erp9

Is it possoble with 8.12/erp9 to start an external programm
so:
when the user is in the html interface can he from there an external programm be called (through JDE) which is on the users local machine (not webserver or enterprise server)

second questin
will it from there the also be able to use JDE security?

if you want to call a program on the client PC from web interface i think that some kind of embedded javascript can accomplish this task.

Search on google for the javascript, search on the List for the embedded javascript.
