Update package builds timeout

When we deploy a package update and there is a file lock on something the build hangs for 30 to 40 mins before giving the file lock error. Is there a way to decrease that timeout setting so if a deployment is going to fail it with fail faster than 30 to 40 minutes?

EnterpriseOne 9.0 , 8.98.4.1 tools release, Win 2003 deployment server,OAS 10.1.3 on WIN 2008 Web Server

Not that I am aware of. The system waits to see if the lock will release if it does not then it times out. The best thing to do is set a schedule time to do your deployment when users are not actively using the system.

Yes, there is a timeout. In server manager go to the Enterprise server and select Build Settings and adjust the Time to Wait for Deploy value to the time you want to wait in minutes for the deploy to timeout. The default is 30. I'm not sure if it takes a restart of services or not to take effect.

Greg, are you on 8.98.1.4 or did you upgrade to 8.98.4.1?

If the latter, then you should have a setting for how long to wait when you deploy a package.
