We currently have 3 web servers, 4 batch servers, 1 logic (security) server, 1 Enterpriseone query server, 3 fat clients, 1 deployment server already installed with JDE application and Server Manager and are planning to move these to another location on the WAN.

The DNS entries of the servers at the new location would have

1. server names retained
2. IP addresses changed
3. FQDN of the servers changed reflecting the new location.
4. DNS suffix changed from “xxxx.yyyyy.net” to “abcd.yyyyy.net”

I am the PM resoposnible for planning for these moves and 'am currently developeing my plans.

Any ideas would be welcome please>
Would JDE needs to be re-installed or all servers or not?
What would be invlived?
Etc. etc.

thanks

Kike

Hi Kike,

If you are not going to change your server names, then you can siply make a hosts file entry of each server with their new IP address, then there will be no issue.

The only issue will be with the server manager. In each SM agent, you have to verify the agent.properties file, it should map to the new server manager console server.
Also, you will get the duplicate entries of each agent (with their old and new FQDN). To resolve that you can delete the old entries.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
