Shipment Number not getting generated??

User added a new doc type to the system to do some kit assembly. When a sales order is created and processed with this new doc type, everything works like SO, but shipment number is not generated. For testing I changed the doc type to "SO" and used the same item and from the same Branch Plant and processed the order and it gave a shipment number. I went checked that order activity rule, it is same as SO and evething else looks the same. Is there any other set up, user missed out while setting up new a doc type. Appreciate any help.

I think it might be a long shot, but have a look at thread 128676.

You need an entry in udc: 49/SD
This udc controls the doc type/line type combinations for which shipments will be created. Also note the use of special handling code which designates the status of the shipment when created.

Jeremy, Adding enteries for "Stock" and "V-Line" in 49/SD worked. When I reprocessed the order it generated shipment numbers.
