Hello fellow jdelisters.
just a quick question:
we are going live with 8.98.4.1 this weekend after 2 months of testing. Is anyone else out there live on 8,98.4.(1 or 2). Just interested to know if it is performing ok on a live system and if we'll be 'out on our own' when we go live or if there are others who have taken the plunge.
thanks,
Rich

Richard,

We are live on 8.98.4.1 with 9.0. We are using a blend of Linux weblogic servers and Windows batch servers. We have been live for two months.

The only glitch we have seen was with a web services issue that impacts our not yet in production K-Rise portal. The fix for that issue is in 4.2 that we are going to download and install to a test box this week. Otherwise, it has been a very stable tools release for us.

Hi,

We've running E900 Update 2 + Tools 8.98.4.2 on a mixed
environment (Application and Web servers on W2008x64,
Database Server on iSeries V5R4). No problems so far.

You may want to consider going to 8.98.4.2:

good point Jeff but we have been testing this particular TR in conjunction with 3 ESU's (2 of them baselines) which we will be deploying this weekend. To put the latest TR on at this stage would introduce a risk as it is untested on our systems. Having said that if we get severe problems next week which are fixed by 8.98.4.2 then we'll put it on fairly rapidly......

If you check the SAR list for the TR you'll find that only 31 bugs were fixed in 8.98.4.2 so this should make regression testing pretty easy.

Also of note: I did not see any SAR's that might have been the fix for the security vulnerability.

Rich we are also on Tools 8.98.4.2 with our EnterpriseOne 9.0 Upgrade and have been for about 60 days. We have only experienced a couple minor bugs that Oracle Support is currently working to resolve.

just to let you all know we upgraded successfully and we are now on 8.98.4.1. First impressions are good and the big difference with 8,98.2.3 is that we have considerably fewer zombie kernels: 1 or 2 a day compared to 10 or 15 daily before......
Will inform the list of any further developments.
thanks for all of your responses,
Rich
