Strange Grid Populate Problem

One of my clients has shown me a strange problem with a specific app (P42025 - Sales Ledger).

1. They go into the app and do a find. Nothing shows in the grid.
2. Close the app. Open a different app.
3. Reopen the same app and the data is prepopulated in the grid with the same search criteria.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior with a grid before?

I have seen a similar situation where an app is run and the grid is not populated. The app is then closed and restarted and the grid is populated. The explanation I received (and I can't remember the source) was that the first load timed out, but also cached the data (I don't know or can't remember which cache). So the restart successfully loaded the grid from the cached data.

I don't know how realistic this explanation is.
