E1 90 Stand-alone FDA hangs on Loading Application/Loading Objects

Running E1 90 stand-alone on Windows Xp and find my FDA.exe hangs when launched from OMW. Anyone else encounter this in demo jr before? Thank you in-advance.

Have you turned off the System Restore functionality of Windows XP?

Also, which version of StandAlone do you have (there are 3 known versions: original, with Update 1, and with Update 2)?

There might, actually, be six versions of 9.0 Standalone - in the wild. (Oracle or SQL) and (Original, Update 1 or Update 2). I haven't looked, recently, to see what's available on the bOrgacle download area.

The hanging issue could be related to MANY things. System Restore, Anti-Virus, Firewall, or.....

Generally - I make every attempt to install standalones on near-virgin Virtual Machines, with AV and Firewall turned off.
