Adobe Reader X and EnterpriseOne Xe

Some workstations recently were upgraded to Adobe Reader X. Those people had problems adding attachments using the EnterpriseOne Xe JAS client.

Adobe Reader is not on the MTRs anymore since in general it has not been a compatibility problem with JDE.

When we uninstalled Adobe Reader X and reinstalled the older Adobe Reader 9, the problem went away.

Anyone know of any issues with Adobe Reader X and JDE?

I found the setting in Adobe Reader X which allows version X to work with PDF attachments in JDE EnterpriseOne Xe:

Under Edit – Preferences – General, there’s a checkbox for “Enable Protected Mode at Startup”, uncheck it.

Or via the registry: HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10\Priviledged\ by setting bProtectedMode to decimal 0

This means that you can be on Adobe Reader X and still have attachment functionality. Unfortunately, it'll be disabling the Protected Mode which is new for version X.
