ODA driver very slow

hi
last time we decided to move users from adhoc querying, by using 'sql odbc driver' to ODA driver. But the main problem is very slow working of ODA. Example: retrieving 4 000 000 rows via ODBC take 2 minutes, via ODA 40 minutes or more.
Do you have the same experience?

more details:
JDE OneWorld XE B7333 SP23_T1
ODA driver 1.75
SQL 2005 SE (3310)
ODBC 3.5xxx

Lovitz,

I'm not sure that 4 minutes is that bad, if you use a regular ODBC drive you will not get the decimals etc. so you are probably doing at least twice as much work behind the scenes as you are having to look at the DD for decimals etc.

lovitz,

please see Post #113104 (you can search to find it).
Briefly it confirms your experience. ODA is a joke.

Tom, he didn't say 4 minutes . . . he said 40 or MORE minutes vs 2 minutes. This matches other's experiences with ODA.

i think this is not problem with decimal formatting. you can check this by dividing integer columns in sql query using odbc - time of getting results seems to be the same (like without dividing),
the problem (i think) is in JDE security mechanism, which is checking for each record of result set.

Larry,

Your right. It's h*** getting old. Time to change the glasses.
