Upgrade TR 8.87 to 8.98 on Iseries LPAR

Hi,

I have to upgrade TR 8.97 to 8.98 on IBM iSeries 525.

I have detailed the step as follows:-
Detail Task to Upgrade from TR 8.97 to TR 8.98.

I have followed these steps to upgrade TR on Solaris Platform.

If any special action is missed please let me know in thread.

Server Manager
Stop Server Manager Service
Change Tool Release of Server Manager from 8.97 to 8.98
Start Server Manager Service

Deployment Server
Backup System, SystemComp, One World Client Install and
JDE.INI
Execute 8.98 PAR File on Deployment Server

IBM iSeries Enterprise Server
Backup libraries and IFS directories
Distribute 8.98 PAR File to Enterprise Server
Stop JDE Services
Backup and Clear All Logs
Upgrade Planned Environment from 8.97 to 8.98 TR
Verify JDE.INI
Start JDE Services
Check Logs. There should not be any errors.

HTML Web Server
Backup JAS.INI and JDBJ.INI
Distribute 8.98 PAR File to HTML Server
Stop HTML Web Services
Backup and Clear All Logs
Upgrade Planned Environment from 8.97 to 8.98 TR
Verify JAS.INI and JDBJ.INI
Start HTML Web Services
Check Logs. There should not be any errors.

Web Development Client
Create an Full Pkg and Deploy to all Web Client
Deploy Package to Enterprise Server
Full Web Generation

You will have to run LINKBSFN on your AS/400 Enterprise Server after you have installed the new tools release.

I think he included a step to build and deploy a full pkg so that will alleviate the need to run the LINKBSFN.

The client have configured Vertex Payroll system.

Is there any implication on upgrading tool release when Vertex Payroll has been configured.

Do I have to take any pre or post step when Vertex Payroll system is installed.

Upgrade TR from 8.97 to 8.98
AS400
Vertex Payroll System

Our upgrade to 8.98 didn't affect Vertex Payroll at all. No action was necessary.
