SP24.1.1 and SMC

I've set up a test install of SP24.1.1 prior to going live with it next month and so far all is well except for SMC. Access to individual servers with SAW is fine but trying to configure all the servers into SMC isn't. I keep getting Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage when I try and add a server or a port to a server. Sometimes if I disconnect and reconnect it has been added.

Our existing SP23 SMC never gave this trouble. Not verey "page" is problematic. The SMC Global view looks OK. Any thoughts most welcome please.
