Bob,
I installed JAS with sp15 (not upgrading from any other SP) and had some
trouble with gen.bat as well. I got pretty good advice on that from Denver's
Customer Support. We were told to install a fat client on the JA-Server
itself and run gen.bat on this machine. Works well for us.
When we try to create ALL serialized objects at a time we get errors as
well. Try to build them one by one: APPs, Reports, Menus, DD-items, etc .
We ordered SP15.1 . SP15 has a bug: you cannot open the PDF's with Acrobat
on HTML clients.

Has anyone had the experience of upgrading OneWorld XE to SP 15? I am in
the midst of this transition from SP 13 and have encountered numerous
problems upgrading the jas server. I have followed all JDE instructions
closely however am receiving errors when I try to regenerate all serialized
objects within JDE once the SP has been installed? Has anyone experienced
this or could you suggest what I may be doing wrong? After starting hte
gen.bat process, I receive a java.lang.error...
