Outlook 2007
1. When we open xls output generated via BI it SHOWS an error popup (as"The file you are trying to open FileName.xls is in a different format than specified by the file extension..." )
2. Outlook 2007 allows a feature to search
inside attachments - however it is not able to search in BI generated .xls attachments as it doesnot recognise the file as an xls file but identifies it as a webpage instead.
3. When I tried searching in a non-JDE created xls - it searched the attachment correctly.

The Users want to be able to search in the attachemnets generated by BI Publisher and they are all using Outlook 2007.

Has anyone seen this problem - It appears JDE is not compatible with Outlook 2007 ??? any ideas.

Hi,

What happens when you open that file with Excel 2007?
Does it work?
Have you tried opening that file with Notepad, just to
be sure that it's not a plain CSV file with .XLS extension?

---- When we open xls output generated via BI it SHOWS an error popup (as"The file you are trying to open FileName.xls is in a different format than specified by the file extension... Do you still want to continu").

Does it work?
------ if we say "yes" to the above pop-up - then it opens up in excel format but if you try to save as - then it saves as a webpage.

---- yep - I tried that just now and it shows up as below :
