Hi All,
I am new to JDE and i want to know the basic architecture and how different servers communicate in JD Edwards.
what are the advantages over SAP?

Thanks,

Take a look at JDEdwards Enterprise One, the complete reference. It's published by Oracle Press. There is a new release of that book that covers up through 8.12. That should answer your architecture questions. You won't find a lot of people in the list (or anywhere for that matter) who have done extensive work in both SAP and JDE to answer that second question.

Actually, I believe I posted some time ago about the advantages of E1 over SAP and arguments for those people looking to stay with E1 instead of SAP. The post is located here :

The arguments for Oracle/JDE still stand, 2 years later - and in fact, I believe have been strengthened.

I used to work with SAP before I worked with JDE by the way. There aren't too many people who have experience in more than 1 ERP system...

Here is another article....

I think that someone on the list put one of my articles on their website with regards to SAP versus JDE - but I can't remember who !
