Post 8.12 - Package Builds from Fat Clients

I am noticing with my release 9.0 /8.98 that package builds don't seem to run the same way in one key regard. In previous releases you could build packages from the fat client. With 9.0 it looks like the build puts the build files on the fat client rather than the deployment server. And, the MTRs say don't log into any environment on the dep server but JDEPLAN and DEP900.

This can be a real pain with debugging a package build issue. There have been several times where I need to build on a fat client what would not build on a deployment server.

What a pain. Anyone tested this out and/or found a workaround???

Interesting. How do you build EBSS packages? These HAVE to be done from a fat client...

I was wrong about building the packages. It builds the spec db on the client and then transfers it to the DS.
