Working for a client that want's to run JDE E1 8.0 and 9.0
1) Can 8.0 SP23_O2 and 9.0/Tools 8.96 run on the same database, two independent installs sharing the same set of data?
2) Can 8.0 SP23_O2 read unicode tables?
3) What is the minium OS version required for the AS400?

No offense, but I hope you aren't the technical expert for this client. In answer to question one - NO NO NO NO NO NO

Qustions two and three - talk to your CNC.

Same database or same AS/400 ?

The answer is NO. You CANNOT share 8.0 data with 9.0 - there are DRAMATIC differences between the versions - you cannot even share 8.11 and 8.12 data due to the differences.

8.0 cannot read unicode (support came out with 8.9 - 8.0 is really B7334 and is still the A7.3 world data model)

However, you CAN install 8.0 and 9.0 on the same box - ie, as two seperate instances - but, you should be careful about hardware sizing - ie, how much space do you need, whether you have enough memory on the AS/400 to run both sets of objects.

If you have access to Metalink3 - perform a search for "Minimum Technical Requirements" or "MTR" for EnterpriseOne
