Hi, I've just upgraded from tools 8.96.1.2 to 8.98.0.2
on 811. since the upgrd we are experecing slow application responce time. Oracle has told me to go to 8.98.05,06 or 1.0... we also went from bluestack to redstack.. has anyone had perfomence issues after going to 8.98.02? and if so did you go to the next tools? Oh our enterprise server is iSeries Power 5+ thnaks.. Go Lakers..

I do remember notices about grid redraw and a couple of other things being slower in the early 8.98.x releases. The usual something popping up with a new release ...

They were supposed to have been fixed by 8.98.0.3, which means you should be OK taking 8.98.0.6 with the small fix to get to 8.98.0.6.1 (fixes UBE and BSFN problems).

You could try 8.98.1.0, but it's another ".0" release ...

There's an IE patch you can download that sets the max connections IE can have to 10. The link is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282402/en-us. If you look on Metalink 3 you can find some known issues and solutions in regards to performance that were introduced starting with 8.97. The old solution ids are as follows. You might be able to find them in Metalink 3 if you search by these id names.

Solution ID 201049759
Solution ID 201042032
Solution ID 201061798

We tried running our 8.12 installation on 8.98.0.2 but had a ton of issues with it. Mostly they revolved around data getting committed to the database in a timely manner. Applications were timing out left and right.

After about a month, we gave up on 0.2 and upgraded to 0.5 and things are running much better.
