To all those still having a problem installing E1 9.0 StandAlone

Since I still see a fair number of posts, both here and in the Developers section, asking for help on the 9.0 StandAlone installation and getting it working right, I have to ask:

How many people are aware of SAR#8903255, the software fix that was created for it and is available for download, and the amended StandAlone installation procedure that was included in the Zip file?

It seems to me that most of the questions I see would be solved by this fix.

How about posting the text of that SAR on jdelist?

I was trying to paraphrase what the SAR actually says, because I dislike posting the official Oracle document, but you've saved me the trouble, so thanks!

As you can see, the SAR only officially deals with the failure to properly create the ODBC data source, and the best part is this workaround document which details how to fix some of the issues after you've already installed it.

P.S. One thing I forgot to mention, since many people might find it a bit hard to find this software update to download it, look in MetaLink 3, under Patches and Downloads, choose All Updates for the CLIENT platform, and search for 8903255.
