E 8.12 recommended hardware

please suggest a good h/w configuration for E8.12 /oracle/windows 2003 ?

Ask your hardware vendor for a JDEdwards E812 sizing
document, fill it up and send it back to them.

They'll send you their sizing within a couple of weeks.

You can't pretend having a decent estimation without
describing what modules are you going to run, what is the
data amount, how many users, how many queues, interfaces,
batch activity, etc...

agree with everything you say except possibly the hardware vendor doing the sizing . . . We just went thru that exercise recently for our planned 9.0 upgrade and the hardware vendor (a certain unnamed international wintel provider based in TX) provided a configuration for a company 10x our size/requirements, maybe 25x. Fortunately the proposed configuration was so outlandish everyone just got a chuckle out of it ;-)

With this as a reference we did get our hardware vendor to size our servers though.

Ask your IT manager to get a sizing. He may know how many users you will need to support - which is a very important thing to consider when you are doing a sizing.
