Library JDODFDATA

Does anyone know what this library is and if I need to keep it? It seems to
contain all of our data files as of a certain date (2 Feb.) ... which is
taking up LOTS of space. The owner is JDEINSTAL. I'd really like to remove
it and free up some space, but I'm not exactly sure what it is, why it's
here, etc.

Michelle,

If you installed JDE at that time, this is the JDE test data that should be tied to your pristine environment. It is typically used to proof concepts, You can save it to tape or delete it if you are doing no development.

If you have a library called JDFDATA, this may be a duplicate that was created during prototyping. Ask your implementation team if a copy of the test data was saved and if it is still needed.

Michelle,

You may do this. This is, World won't stop working after that. We have one
AS/400 without it, and it still works (A73). We've done that because we use
it for demonstration purposes and don't care if goes down. (I mean, downtime
for a week is not critical for us)

I would strongly advise you AGAINST doing so - you will loose almost all
JDEdwards source code for word, maybe something else. You definitely must
not do it if you do any development.

I'm not an AS/400 or World guru, somebody may correct me if I'm wrong.

Regards,
Vladimir Ponomarev
