RE: Failure to communicate with Oneworld transaction Management S

Just guess...
You are using a new server now. It has the same NT name, but the ID is
different. If you know the old one you can try restore it by using software
like Ghost; there is this option there.
If it doesn't work let's try to restore the deployment server on the new
hardware.
Once I did it - backed up everything, added new disk to RAID5 and restored.
I didn't have any trouble at all.
Hope it helps.

WINS resolves Netbios names to TCP/IP addresses. it is not related to the
issue.

Due to some company merger operations, the original machine is no longer an
option. I had prevously undertaken a trial rebuild a couple of years back,
but it was to the same type of machine / cards etc. As I understand it,
because of differences in internal devices etc, the recovery is not an
options - let me know if this assumption is not correct.

Maybe if I rephase the question - what happens during the phase of startup,
when the client tries to talk to the transaction server???????

Micheal,

I do not have access to a B7321 installation at this moment so I am writing from memory . If I am not mistaken there is a Transaction Monitor section in the B7321´s JDE.INI. Do you really want Transaction monitoring turned on? Not on the deployment server I suppose!? Set the Transaction Server to BLANK and see what happens.

Hope this helps. Gerd
