Hello, I have installed JAS server on port 81, it works fine. I would like to open the port 80 aswell. Basically user can access it via port 80 and 81.

I have removed the host alias from default host for port 80 and added to VH_.....
I have configured it conf file IHS as well.

It seems to resolve the url http://servername:80/jde/owhtml and redirects to
http://servername/jde/E1Menu.maf

However then it say page not found. On the http log it says File does not exist: C:/Program Files/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/installedApps/NJRDBPQWS3Node01/EA_JS_81.ear/webclient.war/E1Menu.maf
Its the exact same install and it works finr for port 80.

This same configuration is working on old tools release 8.9c1. however its not working on 8.96.2.3
We are using Websphere 6.0.2.13 on wintel/sql platform on Release e810. Base,IHS and plugin are on same release
Any one has seen this issue. Any help or suggestion would be appriciated

Nick,

Right in the intructions for installing the JAS server, they explicitly instruct you to NOT use port 80. Pick a different port number, then have your nextwork guys create a DNS name for your instance so the users don't need to type in the server name and port number.

Greg,

Thanks, However we use F5 switches that encapsulate the enitre URL and sent the request to webserver on port 80. Hence, we need to open the port 80.
Interestingly enough it works fine on 8.96c1, we just upgraded to 8.96.2.3 and it stopped working. Not sure what's going on.

I have 14 live customers using port 80 for 812/811

The instructions also tell you not to use terminal services but who isn't?

It sounds like the problem is with your plugin_cfg.xml and not your virtual host in httpd.conf.

Have you verified the plug-in?

Colin,

I already resolved this issue and you are absolutely correct, it was my plugin file. I was pointing it to wrong xml file in my http.conf file. Thanks any ways for your post

Secondly, I do concur that Oracle/JDE/Peoplesoft has said many things in past that we should not do and we have gone ahead and done those to find better ways to utilize this system.

Hey......

I said to post the HTTPD.CONF and your plugin-cfg.xml which could have tipped him off!

Anyways glad it's resolved and we can all flame on another post now.

Colin
