Committed Quantity

Hi Lists,

Under what circumstances or what caused committed quantity to have figure(+ or -) but there are no open orders?
By right,committed quantity = 0.I aware credit orders and over shipment can caused -ve committed quantity but both are not applicable to my issue.
So what other possible reasons or causes?

I'm not sure there is a reason for your issue. I have the same problem and
this case was already discussed in forum.
In my case committed quantity as well as quantity on hand differ from what
it should be. I have committed qtties without open orders, and I have QOH
different from what I can calculate from item ledger (F4111).
So far we couldn't find any reason for this...

Error.
Pls have an extract (!):

The Item Location (F41021) file is purposely excluded from all transaction
sets due to record locking concerns. If an application that uses
Transaction Processing also updates the Item Location (F41021) file there
may be occasions when an Item Location (F41021) file record is written or
updated even though the rest of the transaction was rolled back. A Tools
enhancement is planned for a future release to include the Item Location
(F41021) file in the Transaction Processing boundary.

In B7332, the Item Location (F41021) file MUST BE MANUALLY CORRECTED
(highlited by Alexei Martkovich). In Xe a new F41021 Transaction Workfile
(F41021WF) was added to capture commitment information in case of a
transaction failure. The customer can then rollback commitments via the
F41021 Commitment Recovery (P42210) program or F41021 Commitment Recovery
(R42210) UBE. This functionality can be enabled by switching UDC 00/AT ROLL
special handling code form ‘0’ to ‘1’.
