EGen taking extensive length of time.

We have come accross an issue where our EGens are running for an extensive length of time, What was taking 45 min to 1.5 hours is now running 12 hours plus.

We have generated the DDTEXT, DDDICT and GLBLTBL files. Initially I generated the business views, tables and data dictionary which ran relatively quickly I then generated the applications, reports and NER , the NER genned okay but the reports and applications are crawling. I looked at the Oracle DB and the resources seem okay there.

Can anyone offer any suggestions.

You may be missing some reindex or update statistics on
f989998 and f989999 tables.

I thought of this, however I am clearing the tables before the EGEN. If
you believe this is still necessary , should I generate the statisitcs
before or after clearing the tables.

Hi,

I usually update statistics after regenerating the table.
This slowness can also be due to the fact that the
WebGen PC disk is almost full. Have you checked that?
