Printing to HP Deskjet family printers

Hi,

We have several HP Deskjet printers. We want OW users to use them. I tried
to define, for example for a HP DeskJet 670C, a OW printer as a PCL printer
(it is not a LinePrinter, nor Postscript). The report prints well, but at
the end of it, somes unwanted output comes, like this:
IN;SP1;PW0.01;3.3867,0,-3.3867,2IR0,100,0,100;
PU-1.667,286,458;PD138.958,286.458; PU154.583,286.458;PD685.833,286.458;
.... etc.... and 8 lines more beginning with PU. I think this is the
translation of the report to the PCL langage, and those codes are PCL ones.
But how to print to such printer ? Is there any cutomer driver (using
CUSTOM printer) ?

hi maher,
i think most on the forum will agree that the printing within one world is rudimentary at best. have you tried bring up report in adobe and printing from there ? we print to many HP printers including the 670c and have no problem as long as users don't mind bring it up in adobe first.

Hi,

I have the same problems with the HP 870C and HP 890C. We are running
the prinerts in the network with HP print servers. We are on OW B733.2
and AS/400 as ES.
The printers are defined on the AS/400 where you have to choose a host
print transform (HPT), but there is no HPT for those HP printers only
HP4000, HP560C,HP550C. HP1200,HP1600, etc.
The only way I see is to program a workstation customization on the
AS/400, but I don't have the time to program that.

Maybe there is someone out there that has already done it.

regards,

Thomas
