I'm unable to create a new Managed Instance of EnterpriseOne HTML Server Version 8.97.0.2 in Server Manager.

Windows 2003Srv + IIS + WAS (tested both 6.0 and 6.1)

Error Message at the end of creation proces:
=========================================================
Unable to remove the instance 'TEST' from the targets.xml repository the instance was not installed properly and may cause undesired results. Unable to install the instance 'TEST' an exception was thrown during the installation procedure.

: Exception invoking method install : Exception invoking method configureHttpPort: null invoke(, , installInstance) javax.management.MBeanException:

Unable to remove the instance 'TEST' from the targets.xml repository the instance was not installed properly and may cause undesired results.
=========================================================

The instance is installed, but it doesn't start, status is: 'Undetermined'

If anyone came across this error and can help, please give a hint ... seems to reproducable: WAS 6.0.2.23 and 6.1.0.0 acct the same, two setups tested ... and targets.xml is SM specific file.

Starting with tools 8.97 Server Manager is the only way to install tools on a Web Server, and it doesn't work. No useful info in log but I'm still serching.

Make sure that you have created an IBM http server within the profile and configured the plugins properly. Each profile requires its own http server node.

Hi,
Before installing the JAS server, make sure that you first create an instance for the WebSphere Application Server on your machine. Once you create the instance you will be able to start/stop WebSphere (ex.: profile AppSrv01 or Dmgr01).
If the Websphere instance works properly, yo have to create a J2EE server (ex.: JAS_DV_81). Therefore click on your WebSphere instance and then on the profile in which you want to install the JAS.
After it, you will be able to install the HTML Server instance on the J2EE server.

Good luck!

Thanks, It was indeed problem with webserver's plugin for IIS. It was corrupted somwehere in a proccess of patching WAS bettwen 6.0.0.0 and 6.0.2.23

WAS works great with IBM HTTP Server but with IIS needs carefull configuration, and WAS 6.1 needs manual creation of webserver1 module for default profile AppSrv01 (6.0 was installed already with webserver1)

Besides the above problem, Server Manager is very stupid ... ie. if you press 'cencel' during New HTML Instance creation proces you end with the incompleate instance profile that is not working and which you cannot delete or fix ... the same is happening if there is any problem with you WAS configuration and so on ...
