E1 standalone version 8.11

I've installed standalone 8.11 but when I try to go to the web applications menus I get an 'unknown JAS signon error'. I saw Mr Wong's notes about installing 8.12 and I made all the suggested changes but I just can't figure this out. This is the message in the jas log: [INVALID_DATASOURCE_PARAMETERS] DataSource object not fully initialized, missing instance name.

I'm more of an analyst than a technician, especially when it involves E1. I think I should recognize what's wrong but I'm just not getting it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like something isn't pointed right, or the database isn't mounted.

Was there a JDBJ.INI file to copy from the CD? If not, the change that needs to be made is to make sure your JDBJ.INI has a line like this:

[JDBj-BOOTSTRAP DATA SOURCE]
databaseInstance=JDELocal
