IBM DB2 Web Query and OneWorld

Is any one using IBM's new web query tool on the System i?
We are in the process of testing to tool against JDE data, but are having issues with the Julian Date. Software is unable to convert the data.

Hi Randy -

My first reflex would be to create an SQL view to transform the date to the format understood by Web Query and then use that view as a synonym.

My understanding is that there is a custom Web Query data adapter for JDE environments which may already be handling conversion of Julian dates correctly. Did you ping IBM yet?

Would love to help, let me know if we can.

All my best,
Jen

Yeah, there is one and I am using it with MS Query. For the life of me, I can't remember where I found it. I can only use it on my fat client. There is one out there, for about $1,500, that doesn't require a fat client.

It does the date conversions, add decimals to numeric fields, and gives you the option of field names or alias. If I can remember how i got it, I'll update.

Maybe another BSA can chime in.

but wait, there's more...

This was a webinar question posed during registration for our upcoming DB2 Web Query webinar:
Does DB2 Web Query have a JDE data dictionary?

I posed this to Gene Cobb at IBM and he replied:
Right now the answer is no. But we are looking into the possibility of providing a JDE ERP/data adapter in the future. For now, any customers who want this adapter would have to purchase a WebFocus upgrade from Information Builders.
