We are revisiting this after being delayed and wanted to see of there are some new solutions out there. Anyways, we are planning on getting around 250 EDI invoices (810s) a month from one or two suppliers to start. We currently do not do any EDI processing. We would not do any outbound EDI (other than the Acknowledgement), the invoices will be paid through another method. We are looking for a low cost solution (< $12000, low reoccurring costs also) since our transaction volume and trading partner volumes will be minimal. An estimated file size would be 950KB.
We our looking for a VAN and translation software than can translate an EDI file into the format we need and also generate a Functional Acknowledgement transaction (997). I found some Web solutions but it seems when you go this route, you have to have the third party do the translation.
