Running a UBE

I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issuse. My client running 8.11, wants tto be able to run a UBE as a windows service. I have created the service and a bat file with the run ube command in it. If i just run the bat file it works fine, but if i run it through the service i get no PDF. Any help would be great thanks.

I've never seen this done... What exactly are you trying to accomplish by configuring a UBE as a service?

The client wants to run a custom UBE that takes data from another application and puts into oneworld, so they want it to run all the time the server is up.

Are you using RUNUBE command from within your DOS???

If it is being treated like a subsystem job (run outside normal processes) -
you may not get the desired results you intend. Subsystem jobs do not hit
the WSJ arena - and go direct to print (if they user had a default
printer). If the user doesn't have a printer - I believe they go to ZED
(the printer) - which is a ghost...

We are trying to use RUNUBE, the service starts with no erros but I never get a PDF in the printqueue on the server. I dont put a printer on the end of the command so it does not know where to print. I thought that would keep the pdf for viewing.
